5th-H stages 'Kid Frankenstein'
The 5th-H Performing Arts Club transformed the pavilion at the Hubbard County fairgrounds into young Frankie Stein's spooky laboratory.
"Kid Frankenstein" — a family-friendly adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic — is 5th-H's second theatre production. They presented three shows over the weekend.
The newest 4-H club, members are involved in acting, backstage, tech, props, set building and costumes. The youth theatrical troupe is directed by Faith Kern, with Charlie Edwins as production manager.
"Kid Frankenstein" boasted a cast of 21 thespians. Frankie (portrayed by Caleb Wright) and Irving (Levi Trygstad) are science nerds who have an unusual idea for their school's upcoming science fair. When Doctor Frankenstein's ancient secret book arrives from Transylvania, the friends are whisked into a lively adventure with Helga (Charity Kern) and a tall, green monster (Isaac Kern).
Prior to showtime, 5th-H Performing Arts Club offered campfires for roasting hot dogs and s'mores. They also handed out complimentary copies of Shelley's novel.
