Doubles teams propel Perham past Panthers
Perham/New York Mills used a sweep in doubles to spark a 4-3 win over the Park Rapids girls tennis team Tuesday afternoon at Perham.
Park Rapids swept the top singles spots with Natalie Kinkel coasting at the No. 1 spot, Abby Morris winning in straight sets at the No. 2 position and Kendra Coborn prevailing in straight sets at the No. 3 spot.
Madison Johnson and Meagan Powers lost in three sets at No. 3 doubles for the Panthers while P/NYM won the other three matches in straight sets.
The loss dropped the Panthers to 3-2 in Mid-State Conference matches and 1-1 against Section 8A opponents.
